A delegation from Yaroslavl is in Perm on an official visit. At the working meeting, Perm and Yaroslavl colleagues discussed issues of further cooperation, and the guests also visited landmark objects for the city.

Perm is actively building intermunicipal cooperation. Yaroslavl is the third most populous city in the Central Federal District of the Russian Federation. It is a railway transport hub; the city has a river port and an airport. Yaroslavl is one of the oldest Russian cities; in 2010 the city celebrated its millennium. It has the status of the city of the “Golden Ring”, a famous tourist route through the ancient cities of the Vladimir Principality. The Perm authorities see this city as a potential partner.

From July 17 to 19, the mayor of the city of Yaroslavl Artyom Molchanov, his deputy for social policy Elena Volkova and the deputy for housing and communal services and improvement Nikolay Stepanov, the first deputy director of the department of municipal services of the mayor's office of the city of Yaroslavl Oleg Vinogradov and the first Deputy Director of the Municipal Budgetary Institution "Gorzelenkhozstroy" of Yaroslavl Andrey Stepanov.

The head of Perm, Eduard Sosnin, and the mayor of Yaroslavl signed an Agreement on Cooperation between the cities. It involves mutual assistance in the development of ties in the spheres of urban management, culture, education, social support for the population, physical culture and mass sports, environmental protection, and work with youth.

– I am glad to welcome you to Perm land. In my work, I pay great attention to issues of intermunicipal cooperation; I see the potential and practical benefits in the direct interaction of management teams of different cities of our country. Perm is a large industrial city that forms the basis of the economic and social stability of the Perm region. Like Yaroslavl, Perm bears the proud title of “City of Labor Valor” and has a rich cultural heritage. I am sure that the signing of an agreement between our cities is an important step in the cooperation of Perm and Yaroslavl, and in the near future we will see its real results. “I am convinced that our cities will become good friends and reliable partners,” the head of Perm addressed the meeting participants.

In addition, Eduard Sosnin told his colleagues about the sustainable development of Perm. Thus, he shared his experience in the development of public transport, which is recognized as one of the best in Russia, educational methods, implemented projects for the improvement of the city center, the Kama embankment, experience in the development of green areas and interesting developments in the field of ecology. He also paid attention to strengthening business contacts and spoke about creating a favorable climate for entrepreneurs in modern economic conditions.

The mayor of Yaroslavl, in turn, spoke about the socio-economic development of the city. He noted that the Yaroslavl authorities actively cooperate with city enterprises, which help build various significant facilities and develop youth policy. He also said that in Yaroslavl the unemployment rate is 0.4%, partly due to active interaction. We also talked about housing construction and integrated development of the territory.

– We have been in Perm for just a few hours, and we are already interested in much of what we saw. The gaze immediately falls not only on beautiful places, but also on what is similar to our city. I was in Perm several years ago and I can definitely confirm that a lot has changed. This is really visible to the naked eye. It’s especially nice to see people walking around the landscaped spaces in the evenings. After all, this is the most important assessment of our work – people’s satisfaction with the place where they live. We were very interested in the exchange of experience on issues of urban management, education and work with youth,” emphasized Artyom Molchanov.

Next, an extensive program is planned for guests from Yaroslavl - they have already visited a number of infrastructure facilities of the regional capital. Members of the delegation inspected the complex of repair works on Komsomolsky Prospekt and Sibirskaya Street, visited the landscaped esplanade, the embankment of the Kama River and the stele “Perm - the city of labor valor”. The delegation members also got acquainted with the Spartak sports school, the Youth House, and inspected the “smart” stops. In addition, a number of meetings are planned with specialists from functional bodies of the Perm administration in the field of urban management, ecology, transport and social sphere.
